I don't usually complain about the internet speed

But when I do, the speed sucks ass.

So I moved about one kilometre away from my old to my new house about a year ago - from the Muara Tabuan Area, Kuching to the Tabuan Tranquility P5 area IN THE SAME CITY.

Usually, fixed landlines for telephones will be set up quickly, but in the case of Kuching and up the status ladder my beloved country Malaysia, there is a system of monopolization and so all of the fixed landlines are managed by one company, Telekom Malaysia.

As a student and also an avid gamer, I am always in need of an internet (yeah, typical third world bastard) and it is amazingly irritating and boring having to live without phonelines and internet. So, my dad and I decided to send an official letter to Telekom Malaysia to "beg" them to install telephone lines in the housing area (which is less than a hundred metres away from an area with telephone lines - and the mini station). They reciprocated by answering that this so called "project" only "might" be proposed and even if the so called project is proposed, the decision will be governed mainly by the viability and the budget which is you know - very very convincing :|

So anyways, we went and got a Maxis Broadband internet plan - which looks VERY irresistable indeed. Although a quota is imposed contrary to the unlimited internet plan we had before, at least we had internet - or so we thought.

The best plan we took were for 12 GB of quota, with  36 GB quota for off peak (2:00 fucking a.m. to 8:00 a.m. - although it did make me wake up early everyday which is a good thing I guess). After the quota is used up, we are promised to be able to still surf the internet with a speed limit of 128 kbps (1.28 Mbps) instead of 21 Mbps - which is not bad to be precise...

Until we realized the horrible truth - the promised speed of up to 21 Mbps and up to 128 kbps were infact phonies. I only get to see the highest download speed of 10 Mbps instead of the promised 21 Mbps, and for the 128 kbps... well, see for yourself. (AM I USING JARING? WHY DOES THIS REMIND ME OF A DIAL UP LINE?)

We did try to contact customer service to ask for any possible solution to survive with this - and we indeed got a reply, which is applaudable - but not very helpful. (Looks like they have too much money to spend on SMS)

Trying to search for a better alternative, we tried to be directed to Maxis Fibre, instead of having a customer service representative answer the call, we were set to listen to a neverending Maxis advertisement for around fifteen minutes before we gave up and proceeded to spend the rest of our more "worthless" time using more "useful" things, like losing weight and gaining muscles.

And so, we decided to be hopeful - for the day that Telekom doesnt monopolize installs fixed lines in our area (TABUAN TRANQUILITY PH5 \o/ ) or that Maxis actually becomes more competent improves the quality of their channels for a faster speed. We customers dont want to pay for trash! want a better quality, not just quantity of broadband subscriptions with feeble speeds :3

Kuusou Rumba [ Cover ] - A LOL PASTIME

So yeah, this is my pastime. A friend intro-ed this anime to me to watch, and I got addicted to ALL the songs from the anime. Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei; meaning Goodbye, teacher in despair is an anime that teaches about the many horrors and evil of life and humanity itself in a comedic manner, and for me the dark humor is actually amusing. Well, watch it to learn it - I won't spoil anything for you!

I rarely post my singing online nowadays - and as stated in the past; it is because I inherited my dad's perfectionism. I don't really love posting things I feel is not up to par. And yeah, because my microphone is like half-busted and they're all so expensive, I guess this is up to par then :3 lifehacks!

XOXO

China's Web Junkies: Internet Addiction Documentary - Thoughts

Okay, so I got to watch this video about how China deals with kids who has internet addiction. Got me thinking, if I was living in China at their age - I would be sentenced to this place not for three to four months, but for life sentence.

I was kind-of surprised at how they treat internet addiction as a disease or a disorder, but it is not that surprising because humanity have only plunged into the era of electronics just very recently. Previously, there should be a disorder named for people who are addicted to reading books and cooped up at home watching TV, and in the future probably one for people using the virtual device such as the Oculus Rift.

I will not say that the way the government has decided to deal with this addiction is wrong - because it is truistic. If an able bodied person stays at home or outside almost 100% of the time to play, like one kid did in the video (he stayed outside for three days), there is no guarantee that he is able to contribute to his family, his society or even the world as it is. I agree to the fact as stated; teenagers and children seek comfort and company online because they feel neglected but not only their parents, but possibly their neighbours and peers as well; so they resort to seeking a haven for communication where they won't be judged according to their physical looks as long as they remain anonymous, in the form of an online avatar. They can become something they cannot be in real life, famous. skillful; name it. However, these addicts should learn how to divide their time to contribute and still be able to perform in these forms of E-sports. Wearing diapers just so that they can perform well in game is like wearing diapers to the exam hall so that you can perform well in exams.

The "electronic heroin" as claimed does have its drawback or "cold turkey" stage - thus rehabilitation is seen as something necessary. The environment should be comforting as well; not to imprison these kids in a jail of some sorts. Yes, they do make friends in the rehabilitation centre - this by itself is a bright point of the treatment. However, I do not agree that forced military training be done and that doctors and medical specialists be there for the reason of "treating their addiction". What I had in mind was that they be monitored and to do exercises to remain healthy, and be encouraged to participate in serene activities such as painting, tinkering or playing musical instruments. The medical specialists can then be there to monitor their health and to encourage a healthy lifestyle (what to eat, etc.).

The parents of these children might be neglecting their duties as parents early on because they are too busy with work. This is not surprising as asians are known to be workaholics. I am lucky to have a stay-home mother that tends to my needs. To repent for their actions early on, they send their young here instead of taking the long way of love, but the shortcut of shun. They forced their young to enter the centre with lies and even underhand tactics like DRUGGING them with sleeping pills which I actually find to be wicked.

I do have actual mixed feelings to this treatment of the teenagers, and I actually have some ideas on how these rehabilitative processes can be improved, as stated. Hopefully- just hopefully these addicts will be spared and be given a a trial and rehabilitation that is more on par with the standards of the moving hand on the clock - its the electronics era after all!

XOXO

The Deepest Sleep by Scriptwelder

First view of the game. So I needed to click play.
LOL NOPE. The title of the game sounds like some relaxing game with point-and-click but the disclaimer tells me otherwise. I probably wont play this for long, I am really reallly REALLLLY bad with scares when I'm alone so yeah. Since I really am alone, nope. No headphones. Nopeee I will leave my lights on even though its DAYTIME.
So I wake up in the middle of the night and someone is standing at the corner of my bed, watching me sleep. I hope its not Lisabelle or Carrie. Or any other stalkers that come to my room at night to take naked pictures of me sleeping and then distribute it to porn sites. Apparently I cannot move, and spam-clicking the window does not help me look out of it as well.
After spewing out my drinks from spam-clicking Lisabelle, I finally got some well deserved rest and began to explore my dreams. There's an empty shelf filled with white cotton candy, and a door that happens to be locked. After picking up a "sealed jar" from the bottom left floor, the door flings open. Such a gentleman.
AND HERE I AM IN THIS CORRIDOR WITH SOMETHING LOOKING LIKE EYES STARING AT ME. LOLNOPE LOLNOPE LOLNOPE LOLNOPE. I hope I'm not naked.
Oh wait. Those are lights. Well, now I happen to be in a room with three doorless doors. My RPG senses tell me to explore the doors to the left and right first, because you know - there might be treasures.
What I found in the room on the left. So my name is Bert. I don't recall following any stupid travellers and no, I didn't know what was going to happen. Maybe its because I didnt play the prequels to this game. Silly me. Bottom feeders? do they feed of my bottom!? LOLNOPE level increased by 5.
What I found on the room to the right. Contrary to my predictions, they dont feed on my bottoms - unless they end up at the bottom layer of the "realm of dreams". I can ____________ by staying perfectly still? Yes, very helpful.
This skull helm seems to be in the middle of the... three door crossroads. It really is enough to make me go LOLNOPE. By using a screwdriver to scoop out a diamond from a statue on the room towards the right; previously you can give it an eye.
My instincts tell me that if I manage to find another diamond and give it another eye, it would come alove and bite my head off. LOLNOPE. NO. NO. NO. I will hide in the first room until I wake up from this nightmare.

Overall, I SCARE-rate this game a 8/10 because its scary. Yes, its pixelized - but it IS scary. I have always respected pixelized games too, because it gives a feeling of nolstagia. The controls (mouse) is smooth, and the crosshair is easy to aim with. Good job, Scriptwelder. I hope I sleep well tonight :|
